Apollo Hospitals and the Down Syndrome Federation of India
DSFI joined hands with one of the leading Health Services Providers in the country Apollo Hospitals to spread awareness about Down syndrome.
Apollo Hospitals is an Indian hospital chain based in Chennai, India. It was founded by Dr Prathap C. Reddy in 1983 as the first corporate health care in India. Several of the group's hospitals have been among the first in India to receive international healthcare accreditation by America-based Joint Commission International (JCI) as well as 13 NABH National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers hospitals. The group has developed services in telemedicine, after starting a pilot project in 2000 at Aragonda, Dr. Prathap Reddy's home village. The organisation signed a ‘memorandum of understanding’ with Health Education England in April 2017 to provide a large number of doctors to fill vacancies in the English National Health Service.

Down syndrome federation of India bears the unique distinction of being the only centre of its kind in South India. And not just this, a lot of research programs, specialized outpatient services, and early intervention programs are also conducted and coordinated here.
DSFI decided to join hands with this illustrious service provider which the Federation felt would be a good move to spread awareness about Down syndrome. Apollo Hospitals agreed to light up its various hospitals in Chennai in the Down syndrome colors of Blue and Yellow. It was a majestic sight to behold the hospitals in the Down syndrome colors.
