Mathrumandir
We, here at the Mathru Mandir, offer day-care services to individuals with special needs, more specifically, to those afflicted by the Down Syndrome. The variety of support services provided by us includes counselling distraught families, training children to overcome their shortcomings, providing physiotherapy, and speech therapy, and spreading awareness about Down Syndrome etc. The Mathru Mandir was established in 1984 with just 6 children. Today, it provides services to innumerable children not just from our country but also to those from the Middle East. We have not only grown as day-care centre, but have also achieved milestones, touching lives and making a difference to thousands of children who now find themselves leading a better quality of life. And yes, without the support of families and professionals who sincerely dedicated themselves to this mission, nothing would have been possible. The prime force behind the making of Mathru Mandir was Mrs. Rekha Ramachandran. She not only bears the distinction of having put in her efforts to create Mathru Mandir, but is also the proud mother of Babli Rmachandran, her daughter, who was born with Down Syndrome.
