Chennai lights up in Yellow and Blue
“Down syndrome has nothing to be Down about” – a parent had mentioned in his talk during one of the many celebrations held in the city on the occasion of World Down syndrome Day. This year, it was decided to light up Chennai in the Down syndrome colours of Blue and Yellow.
Apollo Hospitals, the premier chain of hospitals in the country decided to support the cause of Down syndrome by lighting up all their hospitals in blue and yellow. This is a great push for our cause because the reach is so much higher due to the higher number of footfalls in these hospitals.
Not only Apollo, but like last year, Ripon Building, the office of the Corporation of Chennai was also lit up in blue and yellow. The majestic building stood in all its glory signifying the support that the corporation also would like to offer to help in the cause of inclusion of persons with Down syndrome in society.
