Divya S,a 16 year old with intellectual disability has performed a 2 hour Bharathanatya Kacheri on 23rd December 2018 at Dr Ambedkar Park,North Paravoor, that gave her the National Record and titled, 'GIRL WITH DOWN SYNDROME PERFORMING BHARATNATYAM' under India book of Records 2020.

The record for performing Bharatnatyam for 2 hours was set by Divya S, a girl with Down Syndrome, (born on March 15, 2004) of Ernakulam, Kerala, on December 23, 2018 at Dr. Ambedkar Park, North Paravoor, Ernakulam. Even though she is a person with Down syndrome,has been learning dance for the last 8 from the age of 8 and has done her Arangettram at the age of 9. She has more than 50+ stage performances to her credit.She is also very much interested in cinematic dance and does her own spot Choreography. She is now practicing dance at Amrithavani Nrithakala Kshetram North Paravoor under the guidance of Kannan G Nath and Seema Kannan. She has completed her Arangettam in Bharathanatyam, Kuchipudi and Mohiniyattam.

She is a bundle of energy and talent and has shown that there “ability” will always outshine the tag of “disability” that the world attaches to an individual with Down syndrome.
