On behalf of the DSFI Jharkhand Chapter, a Skill Development and Painting Therapy session was organized on 30th August 2025 at Dhanbad, Jharkhand by Maggy Foundation for special children. The session was led by Angelina Magdalene, a person with Down syndrome and a remarkably talented artist. Angelina has completed her Senior Diploma in Fine Arts (Painting) and made history when her artwork became the first painting selected for IIDSC as an event theme created by a self-advocate.

The workshop highlighted the healing power of painting. Colors play a key role in emotional well-being—blue and green induce calmness, red and orange boost energy, yellow uplifts mood, and purple inspires creativity and spirituality. Painting therapy helps reduce stress, offers a non-verbal medium of expression, and enhances self-understanding.

Ms. Selvi, mother of Angelina, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Surekha Ramachandran, President of DSFI, for her constant support, which enabled this event in Jharkhand.
