“We visited your center between August 6th to 9th, 2018 and found the experience to be extremely positive. My little one in 6 months old and she was detected with Trisomy 21 at birth. There were other related issues like cardiac VSD which was also present. I must admit that we were shattered at the knowledge of her condition and more so when we thought about her future. But visiting Mathru Mandir was a life changing experience for us parents. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to first thank Lakshmi Madam, as she was so comforting and helpful. She took utmost care to arrange for all the requirements like accommodation, transport and most importantly all the required medical appointments. She was the one who assured us that DS babies can lead normal lives and that was extremely comforting for our doubts regarding my little girl's future. Secondly, I would like to thank all the doctors associated with Mathru Mandir. Not only they are extremely knowledgeable but also very comforting. They make sure that they take utmost care in diagnosis of the child and provide very honest opinions. They also provide positive advises about how to take care of gifted child like ours. Special thanks to Dr. Ranjith for putting our worries to rest regarding my child's VSD. Thirdly, I would wish to thanks all the therapist at Mathru Mandir who provided us with all the therapies and explained them so nicely to my wife that now she finds it extremely comfortable to do those exercises at home. Special Thanks to Ms. Mithula who went the extra mile to come to our hotel to help my baby when there was actually curfew in entire Chennai. Last but not least my heartfelt thanks to Sandhya Madam who made our time at Mathru Mandir a very positive experience. This mail would not be complete without thanking Dr. Rekha Ramachandran, who has created Mathru Mandir and put together such a wonderful team whose sole purpose is to serve the DS community without any profit motive. Any amount of Thanks that I provide to this wonderful set of people would never be enough. I would wish to visit the center regularly and would also try and convey to as many people as possible for the benefit of DS community.

Dear Rekha Maa, I would like to express my dearest gratitude for all the assistance and guidance that you and your team has provided to me. It was an honour to visit you all in Chennai. I have received a lot of information and a lot of ways and methods through which I can help my daughter progress. I feel like I now know what my responsibilities towards my daughter are and I am no longer helpless. In the time I spent there I realised so much of what I could do and could have done. I feel heartbroken when I think about how I could have helped but I think being late is better than never. In such a short period of time you made it possible for me to meet many doctors and also go through complete check ups. You also provided financial help for which I would never be able to thank you enough for. I would like to thank you and your team once again for all the care and support I have received.

Respected Madam, Firstly I thank you for giving me this opportunity to travel with you for the assessment as it has truly been a learning experience for me as a professional. I was able to get the different kind of thought and attitudes of parents of DS child in Gujarat with ones in our center here. I was also shocked with the kind of professional blunder made by many therapist in Gujarat by prescribing a AFO( ankle foot orthosis) used usually in spasticity or contracture for a down syndrome kids. I was happy to share my professional knowledge with a fellow therapist there and with parents in improving the child's milestone delay and educating the disadvantage of AFO usage for DS kids. I have previously worked with special kids. A 7months work experience with down syndrome kids & as a mother of a 4yr old ,comparing them I believe that there is little difference in a DOWN SYNDROME CHILD and a NORMAL CHILD and it's the delay in physical development & bit intellectually challenged. A DOWN SYNDROME CHILD IS NOT COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM A NORMAL CHILD IN TERMS OF BEHAVIOUR AND UNDERSTANDING. THE DIFFERENCE IS IN THE PARENTS /PEOPLE'S MIND OF LOOKING AT DS KID.

We are currently in the UK and wanted to visit Mathru Mandir and personally meet Dr. Rekha and her team. In September 2016, we were in Chennai for 3 consecutive days. We are very happy with our interaction with Rekha Ma's expert team including specialized doctors and Mathru Mandir's on board full time physiotherapy, Yoga and other trained staff members. We can confirm that the objective of this organisation is to serve the community. We have got a lot of inputs. One important point, Rekha Ma personally had come to receive us at the Chennai Airport. Her hospitality is truly incomparable. She loves her children and associated parents. We also met parentsfrom low income groups and were delighted to see the support they received interacting with a team of qualified doctors. I pray for Rekha Ma's good health and my best wishes for her work in this area. All the best team. ".
