Down Syndrome Federation of India and UNICEF Champion Disability Inclusion at World Health Summit Regional Meet 2025
On April 27, 2025, the Down Syndrome Federation of India (DSFI), in collaboration with UNICEF, hosted a powerful panel discussion at the World Health Summit Regional Meet at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The session, titled “Disability Inclusion Starts with Us: Rethinking Accessibility & Care,” brought together leaders from health, law, and innovation to advocate for the rights of individuals with Down syndrome.
Distinguished speakers included Dr. Surekha Ramachandran (DSFI), Dr. Naveen Thacker (IPA), Dr. Vivek Virendra Singh (UNICEF), Mr. Anshumaan Sahni (Counsel), and Dr. Satyaprakash Dash (BFI), moderated by Dr. Amita Singhal and Dr. Vivek Virendra Singh.
Dr. Naveen Thacker’s call for early intervention and inclusive healthcare inspired renewed commitment, while Anshumaan Sahni’s clear guidance on disability rights empowered families. Dr. Satyaprakash Dash emphasized innovation with empathy, and Dr. Vivek Virendra Singh’s dedication gave our self-advocates a proud platform to showcase their talents.
The session, streamed live here, reaffirmed that true inclusion begins with belief — a message that resonated deeply with all present.
