INQ FEST: A Celebration of Inclusion
DSFI children recently participated in “TALENTIA 2024,” an innovative cultural festival held at KCT Campus, Coimbatore on December 7th. This pioneering event marked the first-ever inclusive cultural celebration in India, bringing together children with special needs and neurotypical children to showcase their talents.
Our children, alongside their siblings, proudly displayed their abilities in group dance and meme creation. This was their first major on-stage performance in an inclusive setting, captivating an audience of over 200. The team, uniquely driven by parental involvement, received immense praise for their outstanding performance.
Parents actively spearheaded the entire process, from song selection and choreography to costume design and prop preparation. Remarkably, all these preparations were conducted online through video calls over a month. Despite the challenges of virtual collaboration, the children dedicatedly practiced their team performance at the event venue the day before, culminating in a vibrant and unforgettable show.
This experience underscores the power of inclusion and the transformative impact of parental support. We are immensely proud of our children for their hard work and dedication.
