The Purple Economy promotes the active participation of persons with disabilities as consumers, employees, entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders in the economy. It recognizes that inclusion is not just a social responsibility but also an economic opportunity. By creating accessible workplaces, inclusive products and services, skill development initiatives, and equal employment opportunities, the Purple Economy enables individuals with disabilities to contribute meaningfully to society while achieving financial independence and dignity. At the Down Syndrome Federation of India (DSFI), we are committed to advancing the Purple Economy through pre-vocational training, employment readiness programmes, advocacy with industry, and partnerships that create sustainable livelihood opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome. Together, we can build an inclusive economy where every individual has the opportunity to learn, work, and thrive.

Dear Friends,

On 14 July, EnAble India, together with Deloitte India , had the privilege of launching the Purple Economy White Paper a roadmap that positions accessibility and disability inclusion as an economic opportunity for businesses, governments, and society

A huge win at the event was when the Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India, Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran announced that Purple Economy will be added in the next economic survey!!

Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported us, or has been part of the Purple Economy movement. This milestone belongs to all of us.

The launch of the White Paper is just the beginning. We look forward to continuing this journey with you.

Warms regards,
Team Purple Economy
