Once again we discovered that person’s with Down syndrome are the most confident, determined, positive individuals that you can ever come across.

May the 9th we went on a short break to Colombo and all seemed well…. That night Babli started throwing up… Vomiting was continuous… Took her to the bathroom and she collapsed… She found it difficult to get up. Thereafter she had 3 bouts of seizures…. The first was severe and I had to call Dr Priya for the antidote. After the third episode she advised me to admit her in the hospital…. Within minutes Babli was admitted and started on antibiotics and saline….. She seemed stable. But she was wincing in pain. I was under the impression that she was reacting to the medicines… But yes everytime she moved on the bed she winced.

We came to chennai and checked her levels of sodium and hemaglobin and Dr jayshree suggested Natrise for maintaining the sodium.

However her back continued to hurt and she sent her brother a message saying she was unable to sleep. And that we were not understanding her. So Dr Shankar took an xray and found there was a compressed fracture In her D12 vertebral body… She was put on a brace for 6 weeks.

She also was subjected to an EEG to rule out any brain issues after the seizures… Everything was perfect…. Were these psuedo seizures or was she ejecting all the negative energy.

Today is the 7th week and she is in good form… Ready to get up and perform. Her grit and her determination is just one example of how to face life. Never give up.
